The wife and I are going to be buying an HDTV this weekend. Could I go in, and buy a $1000 gift card, and have my reward zone card scanned to get points, and then have my reward zone card scanned again when we buy the TV???

Has anyone done this? Or, does Best Buy not give you RZ points on GC purchases?

You would get reward zone points for the gift card, then you would get reward zone points for the remainder of the TV purchase, after the gift card is deducted. Or they may just not give RZ points for the gift card, not sure on what exactly gets RZ points and what doesn't.

I was just wondering if the TV was $1100 after tax, would I get $1000 worth of points from when the scanned the gift card before I bought the TV, plus the $1100 worth of points from the total cost of the TV?

The Reward Zone program membership fee is $9.99 for a one-year membership. It is available to U.S. residents 13 years of age or older. This program lets you earn points toward reward certificates, which are coupons for discounts off future purchases in a Best Buy retail store. Points are not awarded for prior purchases, instant and mail-in rebates, membership enrollment or renewal fees, Best Buy Gift Cards, sales tax, state fees, shipping and delivery charges and restocking fees. Full program rules are available in store or at www.MyRewardZone.com.

How devious. If you're going to buy the TV anyway, might as well give it a try.

edit: Doh, guess it doesn't work.

How long does it take for you to get the points? I bought a Home Theater setup and got in on the RZ card at the same time back in early December. Website still shows pending on the points. Is that normal?

Confused...

Yeah takes about a month or two. Just like a rebate.
