I was talking to this guy in my Ventrillo server today that plays games with us... anyhoo.... I got on since I just got my new system running (AMD64 3000+) and just said "hey guys I'm on my new system", and then when they asked, I gave them the specs.
I had this one kid that I didn't know start yelling about what a retard I was because I bought AMD. So his explanation was, that AMD machines tend to crash more than Intel machines (wtf??). He also went on to tell me that nVidia owned ATI no matter what, and that he knew God personally (okay maybe not the last thing..).
Anyhoo.... I started throwing a few articles in his face and he's like "that's biased". "That's not true." "They don't know what they are talking about" vis a vis.... Anandtech.
I just have to laugh that there are lots of people like this in the world and sadly, why Intel has marketshare. Not to say I don't like Intel -- I do. But for the price I was paying I got better performance with the AMD, so I went with it, same with my 9800 Pro, for the price.
