Crazy crazy video card - of course it's Radeon based.

Christ almighty!!! Where are the benchmarks!? With 4 Radeon 9700 Pro GPU's on there, it's gotta be quite the performer!

Damn, that is crazy. It'd be interesting if they actually ever mass produced one of these multi gpu setups.

Even if such a thing could work well, it wouldn't be practical both in cost and to use. Bet its a killer on power consumption.

Honestly, I think that is the least of anyone's worries. This card probably costs $5,000 or something. It's even 2 cards in one - a PCI card hooked up to an AGP card.

HOLY CRAP! lol that thing is one huge..dual layer..hunk of something. Besides wouldn't the bandwidth be limited due to the pci part of it?

2. photchopped?

Doubt its Photochopped because it's already been confirmed that the R300/R350 core are capable of multiple GPU operation.

Dang, now who wouldn't wanna see some benchies on that sucker?

HINT HINT EDITORS! :)

I wonder if they'd be willing to sample it to Anandtech for a video review like that. That'd be awesome.

Whenever a existing chipset is turned into a multi chip card, everyone allways asumes a photochop. Theres not a chance in hell that that pics photochopped.
I wanna see a more detailed view of the 3rd and 4th chips that are between the two PCBs and what the cooling on them are. And why in hell use coolers for GF4s on a R300!!!.
Can you imagine the power that it`d need. A 9700pro on its own consumes 54W. x4 thats 216W of power for just the video card!!!

The user manual says a typical power req. for the system w/ the video card is 300 watts while the maximum is 1150 watts.

300-1150Ws for a video card!!! OMG. You`d have to have an industrial PSU just for the video card, or a way to run it off the mains.

Yeah, it would definately be smart to have 2 PSU's with that bad boy - one for just the motherboard/+12V connection and the other for everything else.

I think most gpus since the gf2 and radeon have hardware support for Multiple GPU operation, but neither nvidia or ati (other than the maxx) has tried it because of the complications involved, such as needing double the memory etc.
Wonder how volari will do....

It's not photochopped. There's a small and lucrative market for these sorts of things in the military and in pilot flight sims.
