I just played through the first few intro levels and it plays fine with a mouse. It would certainly be easier with a tablet/pen, but I wouldn't let a mouse stop me from buying it.

I'm terribly sorry but the servers are too busy at the moment 🙁
I know it sucks, but there are way too many people downloading the game right now for the server to handle all of you.
We're furiously working on a solution to make things better.
