mobo: Epox 4G4A (845G chipset)
cpu: C1 2.4Ghz (completed 8 hours of Prime95 at 3.24Ghz; mem ratio is 1:1 - 180Mhz)
ram: 512MB Twinmos (completed 8 hours of memtest at DDR450 (mem ratio of 4:5))

When I enter Windows at 3.24Ghz with DDR450, it crashes within a minute though. Anyone know why?

edit: Make that a few seconds after login or before that it crashes.

I raised the vdimm, but didn't try the vcore. But the CPU worked at 3.24Ghz with memory at 180Mhz though.

so cpu=3.24 w/ 180fsb 1:1
when cpu=3.24 w 180fsb 4:5 , ram = 225mhz

did you try memtest86 w/ cpu cache on?

raise vcore as well...it might help

how is +5v and +12v and +3.3v holdign up?

Yes, CPU cache was on for memtest.

I just gradually bumped up

vcore to 1.625
agp to 1.8
vdimm to 1.9

and each succession didn't help. I'm still crashing a few seconds after login or before. I don't have enough time to check voltages.

I'll lower my speed and check the voltages. I have an Antec True 430W.

Edit: At my default speed 2.4Ghz DDR266, speedfan gives readings of:

3.3V: 2.5V
5V: 4.97V
12V: 11.86V

do you mean 2.9 for vdimm :)?

anyways, how is the northbridge temp?

do you have one of ram or two?
if two, take one out and give it a shot

go lower speed and check...that psu shouldnt be giving any troubles...

if you have xp/2k, also go run>eventvwr and see if you can find anything that is messing up
