Well, I'm running on a new computer (with latest drivers) but I had the same problems on a P3 1GHz.

Are they a clean install? Without any information it's hard to help you, but I would uninstall and completely get rid of the game, then make sure you do a clean install with your video drivers, then reinstall the game and patch it. Close everything running down when you play it.

Yeah, it's all a clean install with the latest display and sound drivers. I'll give it a go stopping other processes.

You didn't say what video card you have, but I'd check card specific forums for game issues, and you might find a different set of drivers that works.

Oh and don't go shutting down system processes, but just make sure your system tray is clean. I swear half the comps I see have close to 10 things running in the tray and wonder why the computer is so slow. If I were to game right now I'd close Firefox and have just 16 processes running, that's including Miranda and the Diskeeper service, so I would try and get it down to around there.

Video Card is the ATI AIW 9700 Pro with the lastest drivers from ATI.com. My crashes range from microsoft crashes with simple register debug information and then there are BFV errors which look like exceptions throwed tfrom the code.

Yeah, it seems to run a lot better when I cut some of the programs down. I just see how stable it is now.
