Whats the difference between the insurance institute's and the national highway's crash tests?

is one more valid than the other?

some cars while performing badly in one perform fair or good in the other

national highway standard is the standard that manufacture must pass in order to be able to sell cars in usa

insurance institute is funded by insurance companies and they raise the level of the testing. Over the yeras manufacture have been trying to immprove the cars to perform good at insurance institute test as alot of people choice the car on the result of that car.
