crash on boot

New PC consists of :
epox 9NPA+Ultra
amd x2 4800
1 gig gskill pc 4400 ram 2-4-4-8
nvidia video card
2 hitachi hard drives in RAID - 0
dvd and floppy

The windows xp install goes well. Yes, I remembered to make a raid driver floppy and hit 'F6' during the install and load BOTH drivers. The windows xp install goes fine,it formats the raid array as one huge partition. XP install continues ok, I enter the date, location, check off typical network settings, etc. etc. The machine then reboots, 4 passes of the blue worm go by and THEN

it reboots, again, and the cycle repeats. Even when i try and go into safe mode, the same thing happens. I can boot off the cd. I can boot off a dos floppy so i know its not the bios. Before setting up the windows install I did turn on sata2 using the hitachi feature tool since the epox mobo supports sata2. Other than thatI am stumped. HELP?!

When you say you can boot off of a DOS floppy, will it continue to run without doing the reboot thing ?

Have you tried reseating memory ? And if you have more than one stick, try one at a time, unless they have to be in pairs.

Have you tried reseating/reinstalling the heatsink and fan on the processor. May want to take thermal agent off and reapply. I would try memory before doing anything to the processor.

the memory is fine. memtest + gave no errors. I think i found the problem. i turned off sata2 using the feature tool and reloaded the nvidia raid driversfrom the previous version -5.10 i believe. The install went fine.
