I have a P3 700E@933, P3V4X, and an Asus V7700 64MB GF2.

When playing a game like Team Fortress Classic, the system will often freeze up, with the last played sound looping endlessly.

Before I start messing around with stuff, would y'all have any idea which is the most likely cause of these lockups, based on what happens when mine locks? Y'know... save me some time. 🙂

I've run several tests on the processor, and seems rock solid with the Alpha P3125.

Thanks in advance.

try system with ram at 100mhz. if that works its your ram. if it doesnt try cpu at 700, if that works it was your CPU. if that doesent work , open your case , lay computer sideways so heat rises up, then maybe its your vid card.

I love it when people wonder why their overclocked computer keeps crashing! Dont overclock. Maybe it will stop crashing. 🙂

Oyeve -- Thanks genius, but that wasn't even the problem (the processor itself is quite solid). Turned out that I had one memory setting a tad bit goofed up. So yes, I am a moron, but not for the reason you thought. 😛

Everything is fine now. Thanks for the suggestions, hans007.
