Today has been one miserable day.

We had rain, freezing rain, snow, cold and very high winds all day.

My power went out at 5:15PM and just came back on a few minutes ago.

The storm system is going east through the Great Lakes hitting Michigan and SouthWestern Ontario hard.

I am in SouthWestern Ontario, specifically London, Ontario. Right across from Detroit.

That is why I mentioned the Great Lakes area.

Cold rain here (south suburbs, 22 miles SW of downtown Chicago) since Friday.

I see the same thing outside. Looks like about 2 inches of snow/ice everywhere outside.

Thank goodness i wasn't driving in that mess.

Good news for New England, the long range forecast predicts no more than three major blizzards in July and August and temps might even get out of the 50s once in a while.

So the roads here actually haven't been too bad. But the ice is weighing down trees. We went to the gym this morning and passed a downed powerline by the side of the road as a fire truck was pulling up. The transformer exploded about 30 seconds after we passed it. The power has flickered a few times and gone out briefly twice but we've been lucky

Suppose to get 30cm of snow. Hopefully we don't get the freezing rain garbage though, that stuff is nasty.
