Well, it does say "scrap" on the bike. I would question its coincidence. Subtract the "S" and you get an even closer idea.

Noob, Kona makes good bikes. The fork, however, is not made by Kona and is a entry-level fork. Chances are good that !fred didn't land that jump correctly, putting irregular force on the fork.
