Crappy Laptop

I have this really crappy laptop and it doesn't work. The battery charger light comes on, but it will not boot up. I sent it to a shop thingy and they said the board is fried, which is liable, but I think they didn't feel like messing with it. It's an old thinkpad, a P2. What are the odds of fixing it?

I know the "experts" said it was broke, but they're crackheads.

Oooo. I got every one of the status lights on, and i could hear it working. The fan was blowing and everything, which leads me to think it's just the display. I turned it off to go to church though, and I can't get it back on now 🙁 I have a LCD from my other computer hooked up to it, so if I get it to come back on, I hope it works. It's more or less just a mission to get it working, I don't know why, it only has a 4 gig hard drive :/

Change the CMOS battery.....

Many of the older ThinkPads are known not to boot once this battery goes bad.
