Crappy CS:SOurce and other games performance

I have a MSI neo2 mobo.
amd64 3000+
6800
1 gig of geil pc3200
and samsung 80 gig SATA HD.


I play CS source at 1280 1024 with 4aa and 8af. All other settings on high.

I get an average of 52 fps. this seems awful low. any ideas?
 
I had the same results with my 6800 so its normal.

But let me tell you one thing, after I unistalled nvidias drivers and installed the xtremeG drivers I instantly gained +15 fps.

No joke.

Just to make sure your system is running fine, tell us your 3dmark03 score as well.
 
Yea i have a PNY 6800 with a cheap psu of 200 watts ( I dont know how in the hell it is running) but no matter what i can set everything on max and ill get 60
 
WOW That really cool chinoman i didnt know you had a rig so powerful .(oh Yea my rig is going to look better than yours lol )
 
He did say, "usually", which I'd take as meaning it is not an Average. I'm sure a 9600 Pro or 5900 Ultra can get 100fps too, at least "occassionally".

That's not low. Most people just wish they could get fps that high with 4xAA and 8xAF. :|

That's not low. Most people just wish they could get fps that high with 4xAA and 8xAF. :|

What's weird is this.

I get the same FPS as the thread starter. However, the messed up part is I get the exact same framerates with 800x600 and no AA or AF! This tells me that I have a CPU bottleneck, but I find that hard to believe. My Athlon 64 3000+ should be able to run this game better, shouldn't it? It can't be my internet, I have 4mbps Cable modem. I have 1GB of DDR400, all the newest drivers, and I get decent pings around 80ms.
 
I'm not doubting he gets above 100. All i'm saying is, if he gets that good fps, i should be getting better. Cause i have a faster graphics card.

a 6800 is faster than a 6600GT.
 
A normal 6800 is not faster than a 6800GT, what r u talking about?

It goes like this in order of speed:

6800 - Average
6800GT - Fast
6800ULTRA - Very fast

Actually the difference between them isn't dramatic, its not like were talking about different generations here, but it's still noticable.
