What is your motherboard?

Some motherboards hide those buttons so that non-advanced users dont kill their computer. Yours might be one of these.

Especially Dell, HP, etc. They all follow the "You can try them on, but you can't buy" rule.

Most likely you cannot change your BIOS as it is customized for your board. Unless another brand released the same hardware with a different BIOS with more options, you're looking at buy a new board. Motherboards aren't all that expensive!

Probably want to be more specific on the board. Asus makes about a dozen retail lga775 boards and probably some oems that aren't availible for retail.

Anyways, unless you missed some option in the bios, you are probably out of luck. While it is possible to rewrite parts or all of the bios, and someone might have released a hacked bios, this is generally only done for more popular, enthusiast boards as it takes a good amount of time and someone who actually knows what they are doing.

You could try searching for different bios revisions for your board but I doubt that you will find anything. It will be alot easier to just buy a new board or give up on overclocking your system.

just a side note, the bios is stored in a flash rom chip, not the battery.

Bios settings are stored there though :p

Depending on how many people have the board, who made the board and how much you want to search, you can ussually find a modified bios that enables at least some options. If the OEM board is close enough to a retail board you can flash the retail bios.

Extra bios options are ussually hidden under F9 - F12 keys.
