Crap

Honda mower is in the shop
F250 is running rough-and I can't get ahold of the local diesel guru
My Miata won't pass emissions (fails EGR, cat & O2 sensor)

🙁

At least my weedwhacker still runs, does Stihl make cars?

UPDATE

Everything fixed 🙂

Got $30 off the tab for fixing my truck by giving the mechanic some sutures so he could stitch up his chicken that got in a fight?????

LOL Truck runs like a charm again, he replaced some wiring harnesses that get jacked up underneath the valve covers over time, (the right one was toast) replaced the CAS (he says they're failure prone & recommended replacing it now to avoid being stranded on the side of the road, and replaced some seals that didn't like the ULSD fuel.

Woot 🙂

Seems I borked the memory on ECS of Miata when I let it sit for a couple of months & then put in a new battery, will need to go through a bunch of drive cycles to get the thing to show "ready"

Supposedly, advancing the timing helps a little too.

Ugh... we had the problem on the wife's car when it needed to pass emissions. It popped a code from a faulty knock sensor, we replaced the sensor, but then it took like a week of drive cycles before it would show "ready" again.

..they make good chainsaws.

LOL, I've been pulled over 2X so far for the stupid sticker, the cops all bought the drive cycle story though & let it slide🙂

Miata finally had enough drive cycles to pass emissions, evidently the 96' & 97's have ECU's that require quite a few to clear the "not ready" indicators for EGR/Catalyst/O2 sensor.

Mower is fixed

Now to get the F250 into the shop...

heh heh, i would be happy with a miata, i love those little things, especially the NA(for those of you, thats the production code for the 1st model, aka eunos roadster)

They're a blast, I bought 97's so maintenance would be simpler, and they have OBD II, & dual airbags.

Finally found the diesel guru's shop, just like I suspected, a steel building 10 miles from town, surrounded by late model diesel trucks. He prob already knows what's wrong, something about the wiring harness under the left valve cover coming loose, and he recommended replacing the CAS as it's prone to failure.

He also said with routine maintenance he's seen a lot of my vintage truck for 400-500K miles 🙂
