CRAP!!! w95/Weird virus

ok, i d/l AVG virus scanner and it found over 700 W95/Weird viruses. I mean what the hell. Is it wrong. i looked up the info of the w95 virus and it doesn't say anything like it spreads all over your system. I'm running XP so is this a bug. Or is basically all my executbles fvcked?
