Dude, thats insta-poon...even for a married guy. Just act like you care, rub your eyes afterwards and the rest will work itself out. I saw it twice this weekend gonna go for the trifecta on friday.

We're married, been married for 5 years.
I've gone through and passed all of the tests 😉
We have a young daughter that will be there with us, so no nasty stuff during the movie
Sorry to say this bud, but people like you who bring their young children to movies (that are not intended for children) have no business going to the movies.

the notebook is pg-13 wiseguy
which means, "parental guidance for any children under 13"
aka, be there to cover their eyes just in case a donger or a boobie pops out

aside from that, my daughter is 7 - she's heard much worse than most movies can teach her...and thats assuming she'll even pay attention.
she's smart, she knows the difference between right and wrong - she even scolded me for laughing at MXC because "the contestant could've gotten hurt"

Save the parenting advice for someone who needs it.

I'm guessing that he assumed that you had an infant child (which is a pet peeve of mine as well -- I hate it when someone takes a baby to something like Spider-Man or Star Wars where the noise is going to upset the kid) and were an irresponsible parent. 😉
Yup - what he said. Sorry for the confusion.

I've never even heard of this movie. 😕

I'm also lucky to be married to a woman who doesn't make me go see sappy crap in the theater. She can take our daughter or go with her friends. Likewise, I don't drag her to see sci-fi/horror movies unless she wants to go.

It's all about mutual consideration.

There is a difference between behavior she 'tolerates' in you and behavior she 'likes'.

IE, you can do things that piss your wife off. You can do things that she tolerates. You can do things that she loves you for.

If you want your marriage to last, never do the first, rarely do the second, and do the third as often as is practical.

The good news is that she reciprocates, then (IE., doesn't do thinks that piss YOU off, rarely does things you only tolerate, and frequently does....well....yeah....)

Yeah, OR it's called "common sense", and why half the relationship threads on this board are from posters whose S.O. is leaving them.

I think that I know how my marriage works after a being in it for a scant 13.5 years...

Because, after all, divorces NEVER happen after that many years of marriage with revelations that one spouse or the other was never happy the entire time.

How can you be certain of yours, then?

ok...i saw the movie tonight. It was VERY long...just when you think it's ending with a black screen, there's another 30 minutes after that. I can say, however, that i got some action after the movie. I can't say it would have happened had we seen Spiderman 😀

Nothing is ever certain, but I feel fairly confident because I consider my wife's feelings.

There are certainly SOME movies it's perfectly okay to suggest to your wife that it would be more fun for her to see with her friends (comedies and romantic comedies, essentially). Romance movies are NOT. If she wanted to watch something romantic with one of her friends, she would have married them rather than you.

To a woman (alright, not ALL women, but 99.9% of them), marriage is about sharing romantic moments.

I'm sure there are PLENTY of marriages out there that go on a good long time (even until death?) with no romance, but why? Watching movies like this is part of that for your wife. (That is, presuming she even goes for romance, there are certainly a fair amount of tomboys out there, so....)

See, the *problem* with chick flicks is that you not only HAVE to go, but you also HAVE to like it.

So true... 🙁
And then you *must* be able to discuss the scene where the woman in blue dress......
