Not that theres any such thing as a good car insurance company, but you know. Apparently, the state wouldn't let them raise rates 17% so theyre taking their ball and going home. Oh well.

I live in Jersey. And a couple of years ago I did some serious research and the best price came from First Trenton. Your policy is as good as the coverage you select. I have had no problems.

Progressive sucks. They charge an arm and a leg. For example, in 1997 with State Farm, my 97 Honda Prelude SH was $2,800 for full coverage to a 27 YO with perfect driving record, no accidents, tickets, etc. and 10 year driving record. Progressive wanted $7,500.

As a 31 YO with SF, I pay $3,600 for a 99 Lexus GS300 and 95 BMW 325i. My wife has an accident with injury (she says its BS) on her record which is why the rates are so high. I am switching to Liberty Mutual because their rates are even lower. They wanted $2,800.

You should check them out. Here is their number: 1-800-225-8281

All I can say is I'm glad I'm not in NJ anymore.
My parents used to get killed by my brother and I on their insurance (back in HS).

I have to say New Jersey Manufacturer's. Have had them for 10 years, been in two minor accidents (not my fault) and have never raised my rates. In fact they give you a dividend check at the end of the year depending on how much they went underbudget with claims.

Different insurance companies give you different quotes. Progressive could be cheaper for me where as some other company may be cheaper for you. You should check prices on auto policies every year. I do and have switched insurance companies so many times I lost count.

Oh yeah, State Farm is great...until you have an accident, especially if you get injured in an accident...then suddenly State Farm is SUCK!

Find it hard to believe that the difference between sf and Progressive would be so high. In Fl, Progressive rates are lower than sf. At least Progressive pays for your medical bills.
