OMG, my sister just lost a $800 digital camera. She was at a cafe in NYC and she hung it around her seat and went to get something, when she returned, it was gone. Supposedly, nobody saw anything. I hate NY, bunch of thieves out their trying to make money on innocent victims. Thank god I live in NJ, cant stand even driving into the city.

time to coooool down for me.
🙂

<< ". Thank god I live in NJ"

Never thought I'd see anybody say that.
>>

my friend has an "I <heart> NJ" t-shirt...its awesome...he's not even from jersey...whenever anyone sees it they just start cracking up and go..."ha no one loves jersey"...haha

Too bad . . . it is a very expensive lesson for her.

Is it fairly new? If it was purchased by a credit card it may be covered . . . might also check on her homeowner's policy.

It don't matter if you live in dinksville with a population of 500 an everyone knows everyone. When in a public place, never let your belongings out of your site. Not even for 1 second. There are too many scumbag crooks out there.

when Iw as at home depot, I bought a Casiopia right when it came out. First color PDA. Paid like $450 for it. Was stolen in 30 minutes. What a waste. I did learn my lesson tho, people who you don't know all steal. Or atleast, assume they do 🙂

It is not just NY. You should never leave expensive stuff without someone listening. This is especially true at crowded places like a club. At least your sister learned something from this.

<< Was it her camera?

It wasn't your camera that she "lost" was it?

j/k of course 😉
>>

He would have beat the crap out of her instead of posting here if it was his, I guess. 😛

tried that, unfortunately her credit card does not cover it.

Oh man, I just ordered her a new one!!!! At least I put it on my Credit Card instead of her's. I use Amex Blue with the internet protection and all the other beneifts, so I feel somewhat safer using this card.

The Borg assimilate . . . the Hot Deals Ferengi scheme to elevate greed to an ideal.

One of the Ferengi Premier Rules of Acquisition is to 'Protect your possessions' (wise advice for all other races).

I can't see how it is fair to blame this on New York City, which has one of the lowest crime rates of any major American city. Try leaving your digicam sitting out in a public place in any town larger than Hooterville from Green Acres and see how long it lasts. I am not an apologist for New York (I myself have been mugged at knifepoint there), but this theft would have been even likelier in, say, Newark.

Evidently New Brunswick, New Jersey has such a low theft-rate that you can safetly leave your possessions unattended in any cafe in town.

😉

Unless of course, a thief from NYC happens to be there . . .

😀

Oh, she's hot? She can live then.

<<

<< kill her. >>

no way dude... she's hot. and her ex-roommate is even hotter. 😀
