Ah yes...
Via taxation, I separated out a small city, then named "Bootstrap." It was zoned exclusively with low-income residential and commercial service. Crime was initially an issue - a federal prison effectively eliminated the prisoner retention problem, at the cost of increasing crime a bit more due to its negative effect radius, though plenty of police departments dealt with that rather well. In addition, it had excellent health care, a complete education system, and my standard transit system grid.

It was the most darned pleasant ghetto around. 😀

Cities XL was abrasive to whomever wanted to play a single play city builder. It was a game that was trying to create an audience instead of finding one.

Interesting domain purchase, EA bought the domain simcity5.com in June this year, hopefully they will release an actual city simulator to make up for that crappy sim city societies that they released a few years back.

Couple of things:

1. Why the *bleep* didn't I register that site!
2. No Wil Wright so this will be a pure EA game. Not sure I'd like that.
