I was looking for a program that would load a .m3u playlist and burn the files to a cd. I installed a bunch of programs in my attempt to find one that would do this. Now all my cd drives, except for one of them does not work. I had a CDROM drive, a DVD rom drive, and 2 virtual cd drives. Now only my CDRom drive works. When i go to hardware manager the non working drives are X'ed out. In the properties for the messed up drives it says they are disabled. When i click "enable", it says "windows was not able to enable this device." So i uninstalled all programs that interact with cdrom drives (clonecd, alcohol 120%, all the m3u load/burn programs i downloaded...) That got rid of my virtual drives of course since alcohol 120% was the program i used to make the virtual drives and i uninstalled it. But my dvd drive still does not work. SOO... my problem remains. No cd drives work except one, and they are disabled and connot be enabled. What do i do? I really really do not want to reformat.

nevermind, problem solved, all i had to do was delete the device from the hardware manager and then search for plug and play devices and now the drive is back and it works. thanks though.

I had that same problem with Alcohol 120% a week or two ago and came up with the same solution. Think I'll stick with Daemon Tools.
