So, what should I do? Just call newegg and tell them its dead.?Will they send me a new one? How good are they about this kind of thing? i don't want to delay the rest of my system, so how long does it usually take?

Thanks

Ive never recieved dead products from newegg before,so please put your input in.
Thanks

Fill out an online RMA at their site (under your purchase history) and they will give you a RMA number.

Slap it on the package and pay to mail it back, and once they get it, they usually will send a new one out within two days.

Does it show up in POST when you start the computer up? You can request an RMA from your account after you login online.

Retailer sites are usually much faster than manufacturer sites as RMA is one of their primary functions.

They've been good to me both times I had to RMA something (CPU and a video card).

lol
The one dead item i have recieved from newegg i ended up getting a refund for, as it was the only one they had, but it was pretty fast (and if you ask for a replacement and they dont have one, they give you full refund instead of 85%)
Also, if they ever take a long time to send you something, contact them and you should manage to get something out of it. It took them a while to send me my Fortron 530 (2 weeks or so) and I got $25 out of it.

You send it back, they take it back.

then send you a new one? how long does that process take?

No, they send you the same broken one you sent to them, just to deliberately waste your time.

You should be able to request that they ship a new one first to you, then you ship yours back. Of course you first have to go through RMA process, but when you are doing that, that's where you request to have them ship a new unit first.

Newegg does not do that. They state that on their site.

This was answered in my post above.

Are you just stupid or what? He's probably asking whether they send a new one back or repair the old one. It is a valid question. Stop being an ass about it please.

Yes. This is why we have "special" schools.

Sometimes, you can get them to pay for shipping if you talk to their CSR. But in most cases you have to eat the cost of of sending the RMA item back to newegg.com Its risk you take with online vendors.

My RMAs have been quick and without any issues.

Make sure you get tracking number and insurance if you feel its necessary when you send it back.

Did you bother to read this first before posting here?

New EGG RMA FAQ

All of your pertinent questions have already been answered here...

Since so many people would rather ask a question here than actually Google it themselves (OMFG, I have to do it myself???), they don't get much help or sympathy...

Good luck on your RMA though...
