Title pretty much sums it up. I just bought a pair of Grado SR-60's a couple weeks ago. I was incredibly pleased with them. Well, just two nights ago they started kind of cracking (y'know that buzzing sound when it can't handle the bass, like that ring in the speaker is cracked or something). I should note I was listening to a classical piano CD when it started doing this, so it's not like I'm abusing these things. Just to be sure, I popped in a heavy bass CD that when I first got the headphones sounded great (Radiohead-Amnesiac in case you're wondering). And, sure enough, they're buzzing and crackling on all the low notes.
They still sound really good, but when I pay that much for a pair of headphones, they better be spectacular, and for more than 2 weeks.
