Crap but I hate subscriber/non-subscriber links

I'm sick of having to change URLs all the darn time so the non-subscribers don't whine incessantly about subscriber links.

So my question is...
If, when I am logged in as a Subscriber and I click on a non-subscriber link, I can be transparently redirected to the content via a subscriber server, is it possible for that process to work in reverse?

That is, if a non-subscriber clicks on a subscriber link, couldn't they be transparently redirected to the same content via a non-subscriber server.

That way will work but it requires all the non-subscribers to edit their HOSTS file. I'm a subscriber and but every link I post always has forums in it and I never have to change it manually.

What I did was edit my HOSTS file and put this entry in

168.143.107.164 forums.anandtech.com

Now when I surf the forums I go to the forums the URL in the address bar is forums.anandtech.com, if I view a thread the URL shows forums.anandtech.com...

I'm still connected to the subscriber server but it appears that I am not. This allows me to copy and paste a URL to a thread without having to worry about changing it from subscribers.anandtech.com to forums.anandtech.com

I would have thought Zuni could implement something whereby all posts containing the string "http://subscriber.anandtech.com" have that portion of the text replaced by "http://forums.anandtech.com".
Doing it that way should solve the problem of non-subscribers having to edit their hosts file and without any major server-side changes

Zuni has said he is not going to do it. The fix I posted works fine and is very easy to do.
