My sister just told me to smell a liter bottle of cranberry juice that has been sitting in her room for 3 days, and it has the distinct smell of wine. I didn't taste it, but there's no denying what it smells like. Will the smell really change that fast? It's not refrigerated, just sitting out in the open. The sun might have or might not have been shining on it

It must have had something funky in it before she filled it with the Cranberry Juice to make it smell like that.
Either that, or you 2 should both lay off the smiley faced pills :D

Was it left open. I dont see how it could ferment unless there was some sort of mold, yeast, fungus in it.

Doesn't Alcohol turn to vinigar if you leave it out in the open because the oxygen is added to it.

So like his sister went near the juice, all the while suffering from a yeast infection and "fermented" the juice?

Yes the 18% of Oxygen in the air is enough to turn alcohol into vinegar

... wouldn't the alcohol evaporate since it has a much lower boiling point (much lower I should say) than water. Alcohol evaporates rather quickly.

Alcohol mixed with water takes long to evaporate.

It only takes ~ 7 days to turn grape juice into wine. The fermentation process is really quick. Wine takes a long time (2 years) to clear and age. You can get drunk off of it within a few days though.
