craigslist scam?

So I got this email in response to an ad I placed on craigslist. I'm selling a motorcycle.
I listed condition of the bike, mileage, price, no pics.

i saw your advert which says the item is for sale
i will like to know the last price you wish to sell it
and will also like to know if you are the first owner and why u want to
sell it and will also like to have more information about it so
as to know what am purchashing from you and the current pics of the item.

Seems so vague - I 'm wondering if its a scam just to get email addresses? What do you all think.

Ask for a phone number and have him call you and you two can talk. Then set up a meeting time and place. If no more response, then probabl is a scam, although I have a feeling it's a scam already.

It seems like a pretty awful way to get e-mail addresses.

It might be legit-- so far there is no mention of this being a gift for their son in Ghana-- but the fact that he doesn't ask to see it in person and only wants a final price (plus the bad english) are all hallmarks of scammer who is still in the early stages of the scam.

Anyone who can't use the English language even remotely well, and doesn't know what punctuation is, deserves the cold shoulder. I would say it is a scam of one type or another.

His next reply will tell you that he is acting as an 'agent' and would like to ship the 'item' to some far far away place.

Do you really need to ask? Any reply that begins with "i saw your advert" is a scam for sure.
