sample ... have seen quite a few of these with anonymous addresses (which presumably don't go to them) and no phone numbers or anything. Am I missing something or are they slow ? I never got a response from a couple of those anonymous email addresses so that's why I'm asking.

The anon emails go directly to whoever posted the listing. Craigslist allows you to use an auto-generated anon address that forwards to your real account, for anti-spam related purposes (presumably the anon account only forwards to your real email acct for X number of days).

The anoymous addresses are so that spammers can't harvest your email address from the craig's list posting. You set up an anonymous address when you post on craig's list, and when people send mail to that address, carig's lsit automatically forwards it to your real email address that you gave them when you created the lsiting.

It allows people to email you, without your address ever becoming public.

The weird thing is at first I was afraid it was one-way. People would email me and I'd email them back but then they never responded. Then I figured it was because they were girls who didn't realize I was a guy and weren't thrilled about moving in with me.

That's a serious problem. I'd suggest a regimen of proper nutrition, working out, and perhaps a change of wardrobe. Lay off the female hormone therapy as well...

LOL!!! :D What makes you think they've seen me? Actually my name is ethnic and hence androgenous, people always think its a girl's name and then get surprised when they call me on the phone.
