Craigslist Help..

Just to clarify: I'm a Craigslist newb, so take it easy.

I'm trying to sell a laptop.. and someone emailed me. It looks like the person isn't from the United States, and he says that I don't have to pay for the shipping because hes "paying" for it (via fedex)

He sent me an email that he said is from USPS, but to me (being a web designer) the graphics looks sorta bogus and unprofessional.

I looked at the address and.. it isn't even in the U.S. It's NG.

Nigeria? Scam?

Tell him to fedex you cash and a label and when the cash checks out, you'll send his notebook in the box with the label.

Most likely its scam

He says hes paying by money order and gave me an email. But I dont think this would be from USPS.
I guess that picture answers my question.

SCAM!!!

I got the exact same email when I was trying to sell a piece of fine jewelry on there a couple months ago. He offered to pay for the FedEx Overnight shipping and was sending me an Money Order. However, he also told me I could only deposit the money order at a handful of selective banks.

Don't fall for that crap. I've found that anytime you're selling something of high value on Craigslist, you're likely gonna get hit by scammers. I've come to only use Craigs when I want to sell junk (<$100).

My vote would be for Scam.

I've sold several items via Craigslist and will only sell locally (and preferably cash only), just to avoid this type of thing. 🙂

I put some stuff for sale on craigslist a couple weeks ago. I've gotten plenty of scams already. Craigslist is a local classified service, so if you get inquiries from other than your local area (especially with unfamiliar payment methods or weird stories), 99% chance it's a scam. Craigslist has a scam prevention link that tells you all of this. Just yesterday, I got that same email (USPS looking email). It's a fake. If you PM me your email address, I'll forward you the email, and we can compare them. Somewhere in that BS of an email it says that payment is ready to be delivered pending you first ship the item.

Hahaha, same email I got. I actually emailed them back and starting playing games with them. I told them I would like to be paid in pirate coins only. LOL

Another scammer, I told them I wanted to be paid in 15000 cheeseburgers and have them delivered to my door. I even broke the 15000 cheeseburgers out and told them what I wanted and what I didnt want on them. 2000 of them needed to have mayo and shredded rare black lotus leaves found from the pacific ocean. LOL

Woot. I think a got a buyer who's going to pick it up and even PAYPAL me..

If they are going to pick it up, ask for cash.

Could be a stolen account. If you can't get cash, make sure you move it to your bank acocunt before they can pick it up.

the local news radio was doing a piece on a craigslist robber where the guy robs other people at gun point. He would take other people money if they meet up to buy, or take their money and their stuff if they met up to sell...apparently a few people got robbed in my neck of the woods.

Yeah, I got paid in cash.

But the supposed scammer keeps emailing me.. what should I do?

Tell him you sold it to someone else in Nigeria and are awaiting funds transfer.
