Problem with "take their stuff to the curb" is if someone steals it, your responsible for the damages, you have to give someone a reasonable amount of time to collect and move their possessions, I've seen at least a dozen of these on TV court shows and the person who "curbs" someones belongings loses every time.

Thing is the sheriff isn't going to come to a domicile and guard her property, nor will they take possession of it and hold it for her, if it gets stolen you'd still be on the hook.
