Craig Furguson's "No More Britney" jokes speech

Very heartfelt, touching, and to the point.

I've always thought that the losers around the world that keep buying the "WHAT THE STARS DO IN THEIR PRIVATE LIVES" rags are a big cause of the weird behavior of celebs today. Craig delivers a serious monologue here, so I'd thought I'd share it.

Twelve minutes, but very worth it.

it was good, but the audience had a hard time taking him serious until the end.

That's a hell of a monologue. Good job by Ferguson. A little weird though that the audience seems to be laughing at some really inappropriate times.

Yeah, they did have some trouble with that. I can see why they might have laughed at inappropriate times though. You go to that show expecting comedy and they ended up with something that had a bit of comedy in it but was a very serious subject.

i completely agree with craig ferguson about this and i get a little annoyed whenever i see people talk ****** about celebrities they've never met and videos of paparazzi tearing into people like camera-wielding piranhas... i get especially annoyed whenever people crack jokes about rosie o'donnell or mel gibson or donald trump or tom cruise, etc. in the forums... no matter what you think, making fun of celebrities because of their hard times or mistakes they've made or their personal beliefs is just high school as hell.

QFT. I have been a fan of him since the Drew Carey Show, but now I have a lot more respect for him. I just hope the various media outlets watch that and learn something

Of course the media won't stop. The trick is to stop anyway. Craig Furguson is part of the media. He stopped.

:thumbsup: for Ferguson. That said, she's getting what she's asking for. Alcoholic or not, like it or not, she's famous and she's doing idiotic things. She can expect people to make fun of it as long as she does them. I applaud Ferguson for having the respect, standard and self control to avoid using people's hard times to get a laugh, but there's no way society as a whole will make that decision. A significant part of comedy gets it's material from other people's misfortunes, whether fictional or not.

Personally the only news I care about in regards to celebrities is what projects they are working on. I don't understand the obsession with the lives of famous people.
