Senior U.S. Officials Behind Sept. 11 Attacks

TEHRAN TIMES INTL. DESK

(TEHRAN) A U.S. presidential candidate in the 2000 election, Lyndon Larouche, has said that senior security officials of the United States were behind the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the U.S. and were aiming to use the incident to promote a war against Islam.

In an interview with the Voice of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Larouche said that the attacks were not organized by a foreign group or organization, but that senior U.S. officials, including Undersecretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz, had been involved in the attacks, which claimed more than 3,000 lives.

Naming former U.S. national security advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski, "clash of civilizations" theory author Samuel Huntington, and former secretary of state Henry Kissinger as the masterminds of the attacks, Larouche said the above-mentioned figures had been harboring the idea of "clash of civilizations" for years and had been trying to promote a war.

The former presidential candidate said that the U.S. administration was also aware that insiders were behind the attacks.

Referring to U.S. President George W. Bush's "axis of evil" remarks against Iran, Iraq and North Korea, Larouche said Bush was not a thoughtful politician. He stated that the U.S. president was only following orders and that his recent remarks were dictated to him by others.

Elsewhere, he called the Zionist regime a dictatorial regime and said that Tel Aviv was prepared to commit Nazi-style crimes against the Palestinians. He said that when it is time for military operations, Israel will play a key role in the war against the Islamic world.

Larouche added that officials such as Wolfowitz, Undersecretary of State Richard Armitage, and senior U.S. Defense Department advisor Richard Pearl were seeking to create tension and instability in the Middle East.

HE is in jail.
I saw a lot of his supporters during the last Presidential campaign.
They had kitchen pots on their heads and sandwich shop style signs reading "Pot Heads for Gore!"

There are always two or three LaRouce supporters that setup a table near the parking garage of my school, and spread their propaganda. They always have crazy crap like that, scrawled with markers on big pieces of poster board. And they try to shove these nutjob newspapers in your face. They get all pissed if you don't take it.

The sad thing is, a lot of people in the Middle East are so far against blaming muslims for the attacks, they probably believe every word this guy said, and think he's some bigwig in American government.

What they'll believe is a combination of what they'd like to believe and what their government filters in for them

Not long till Czar shows his face in this thread and says "see I told you so! America is suck, Israel is suck! Goooooo Iceland....wait we're suck to!"

Well, this moron gives their government plenty of stuff they'd like to believe to filter in.

Interesting theory to say at least. I mean it would take something of this scale to persuade the majority of us population into supporting the so called "war on terror" (i dont like tv catch phrases, they tend to oversimplyfy facts). But from plain logic the conspiracy thing doesnt seem to be cost effective. The economy got really screwed up from the whole terrorism deal and i dont think oil or whatever might be reson for provoking war is just not worth it

Lyndon LaDouche is hilarous. This kind of crap takes real creativity.

I am kind of amazed that he did not work the Queen of England into this conspiracy theory. Anybody who reads this crap regularly (as I do when it is jammed in my face at my school) ought to know that the Queen is deeply involved in every major plot to destroy the little man the Lyndon purports to champion.

The sad thing though is that the sand-covered denizens of the urinal known as Iran are probably buying into this sh!t. Former presidential candidate my ass. Sure he was one - but damn near anybody can be a presidential candidate.

So true...I have no idea how Al Ahram, Al Hayat, etc. all find American sources willing to say the sh*t they want them to...

B0mberman -

It is not hard to find a media whore when you go looking for one. You know... People who want to be listened to so badly they'll say anything to the media. Right now... America is full of them.

Look at Tom Dasc-hole. 😉

Dude, this was being discussed months ago.

Oh, and Luckster's right. Don't close your mind before you've even seen the argument. And if he doesn't have a credible argument, then why take it so seriously?

There is no evidence. This a-hole just makes absurd statement after absurd statement. Seriously - pick up his papers and read them for yourself.

It is truly laughable.
