Crackling when mousing

Ok, awhile back I had a problem with a crackling sound coming from my speakers whenever I moved my mouse {razer naga}. I turned down the master volume and it got better but never went away. Just less noticable.

I now have a new PC and using the same mouse I'm having crackling noises coming from my headset {Logitech G35} when I'm gaming. I don't hear any crackling coming from the speakers when I set the game to use speakers instead of the headset. Weirdly, the crackling noise mostly happens when I'm fighting an enemy or something {playing WoW}. D:

I just tested a different mouse and have the same issue. Crackling.

I have newest drivers. I've moved cables far away from eachother. I'm using Realtek HD Audio onboard my Asus mobo.

Sounds like your headphone jack isn't pushed all the way into the socket..or you have a wire going bad on you in the headphone circuit. Try wiggling the wires or re-inserting the headphone plug while you listen to your favorite sound source. Hope it can be fixed..some can..others..well..you might be tired of looking at that ole headset any ways. Good luck on your troubleshooting.

I've had the same problem for a while now. I'd like to try some clamp-on ferrite cores on the USB cables on my headset & mouse.

It is typically bad/poor design that results in EM interference from other close-by components to the sound circuit/path. Since typically it is a design flaw, there is usually not much that can be done to fix it short of getting a new sound card.

I just got the G35 Headset from Frys - they are spendy ($120) but they just went on sale and now have a rebate so I was able to do a virtual return and get the refund/rebate.

The G35 is USB 2.0 and there are some known potential problems with USB sound in Windows - it is usually related to USB bandwidth and there is a hotfix for it.

I had the problem the first day, then I ran the hotfix and I now have zero issues with this headset. I love mine so much I am ready to sell my 5.1 speakers (since I never get to use them anyway).

I could not find the link, but do some googling on the headset and static or crackling and you should find it.
