Crackling Sound in games? WinXP+Creative SB Live

I just installed XP and everything went smoothly, no problems. My Creative SB Live Value sound card worked with whatever XP installed for it, but there was crackling sound in the background of my 2 games. So i installed the XP drivers that SoundBlaster just released, the problem is still there. There's no enviromental stuff selected, i tried turning sound excelleration down but its still there. Tried different audio settings within the games also....

Anyone have this problem?

Also, outside of games my sound is perfect, no crackling whatsoever ;-)

You prolly have the 686b problem...I did, but mine crackled most of the time...There are new drivers, it's on Anandtech's news for yesterday i think that might help out. You can try updating BIOS, newest 4-in-1, and check viahardware.com they have a FAQ on it. the other solution is a non-sb card(Santa Cruz or the GTXP or Phillips).
