Crackling noises when using Sensaura surround sound mode with M-Audio revolution card

I just got a M-Audio Revolution 5.1 and I love the sound. Unfortunately though when I use the Sensaura surround sound mode for games I hear crackling sound in the games. I read on the website that you're supposed to run the game in software audio mode, not hardware, and I turned it off. Yet I still hear the crackling noises. Does anyone know why this is? I looked to see if there were any new drivers but the last driver update was the one I have, which was over a year ago.
