Cracking noise from psu

I've noticed a faint cracking/chittering type of noise coming from my psu on a regular basis. It happens/stops randomly, for random lengths of time, and it also happens when the computer is idle. I cleaned the dust out of the psu recently, and I'm fairly certain the fan isn't hitting anything inside. I haven't had any other problems with the computer so far (functioning fine), just this noise coming from the psu.

Does anyone know what this might be, and is my psu going bad or going to die soon? I haven't had any other problems with the computer so far, but this noise is worrying me.

psu: Corsair VX450 (bought new Sept. 08)

Without hearing it, its tough to say, but it sounds like its going out......probably don't want to keep running on a PSU thats on the way out. Better get that swapped.
