CNN Correspondent Josh reports :p

A mother has been charged with trying to sell her toddler son for $500 so she could buy a stash of the addictive painkiller OxyContin. Brianna Marie Burns, 23, could get up to five years in prison if convicted. Burns' grandmother contacted authorities after Burns allegedly offered to sell her the 2-year-old child. An undercover officer wired the grandmother and provided her with $500 for the exchange, according to police documents.

While that is certainly messed up, I will never understand how police can be allowed to do illegal things like that to catch criminals.

It's not as bad as female cops dressing up as whores and arresting people for solicitation of prostitution.

I'm guessing recording someone without them knowing that you're recording them? That's my guess.

Which part of it is illegal?

The part where they were buying a human being?

I think he was talking about the police doing illegal things to catch the crackhead.

I myself want to know what illigal acts the police commited, according to pipboy.

It is one drug of a family of drugs.

I tried OxyCoset once. Whoa! I was high as a kite and didn't feel any pain at all. But when you come down, you come down hard. I took me a whole day to get back to normal. It really messes with your mind.

Very potent stuff indeed.

Nah, a toddler's not that much meat, so it really isn't even worth that...

I would guess it's the entrapment part, if it is indeed entrapment, defined as coercion of a person to commit a crime he or she would otherwise have not committed.

But if the grandmother already knew that the mother was looking to "sell" her baby, and contacted the police about it, and they decided to set up a sting because they had probable cause, then I don't really think it would be entrapment.

It's different than some of the crap I've seen on Cops, such as a case where a female officer, impersonating a prostitute, kept going down and down in price while a man kept saying no, until she finally offered him a blowjob for $2, and he accepted, probably to get her to buzz off. He was then arrested for solicitation of prostitution.

It is a psychotropic drug for pain killing. Opium is illegal. This drug is synthetic and acts on the brain to kill pain. I am sure a google search will turn up all the info you need.

Huh? There are several legal opiates (though they, like Oxycontin, are prescription only and tightly controlled), including morphine, codeine, and Darvon. Oxycontim is indeed an opiate.

Going to buy morphine at the drug store?

Where I am, you can only get morphine at a hospital.

oxycontin is ideed an opiate, in fact its as close to herion as you can get, but much purer- the problem is that it is meant to be taken as a time release tab- its safe that way.... But most junkies who get this drug(mostly threw theft since it is very tightly controled) will crush it up and either take it oral, snort it, smoke it or inject it.... The effects taken this way is a high much more intense then heroin...
