Cracked Toshiba Display

I have a Toshiba Satellite T1000 or T3000 (can remember which, haven't found the paper work yet) and the LCD display cracked. I've gone to a few places and got a price of roughly 400 dollars for a new display. I was hopeing you guys and ladies could help be find a better price or, if not, tell me what I could do or what prices I could get for the parts. the displayu still works its just cracked. if somebody has a trasher laptop willing to sell please let me know or if you would like to buy mine we can negotiate a fair price. thanx for all your help

Check eBay. You should be able to get just the LCD screen for around $100 or so.
