Cracked housing on Compaq P110 CRT - safety hazard?

I just purchased a Compaq P110 monitor for another system. The monitor arrived with a fairly decent crack in the upper left corner of the front of the plastic housing. While I am most likely going to RMA the monitor, it is working perfectly with no visible screen defects, and given that the monitor it replaced had become blurry to the point that small text was unreadable, I would like to use it in the interim. Is there any genuine safety hazard involved with using a monitor with a cracked housing?

nah. the CRT is self contained.
