Great game. It didn't seem like my type of game at first, and even after playing the demo the first time I was pretty unenthusiastic about it, but I borrowed it from a coworker and I really, really liked it. Bought my own copy off eBay.

Question - I beat the game on the easiest difficulty setting, mainly because I didn't realize that "Tough" was the easiest difficulty setting until I had beaten 2/3 of the game in 2 evenings.

I'd like to beat it again on a harder difficulty setting, but is there any way to do that without losing my saved progress - I have an upgraded agent that I'd like to be able to use for time trials and co-op and what have you. Is there a way to do this?

And is anyone interested in co-op? I'm not that great, but I beat the game on easy without too much difficulty.

I played the demo as well and didn't like it at all. Maybe I should rent it and give it a try again.

Well, what didn't you like about the demo? The thing about the game is, your skills in 5 areas improve as you go through the game - agility (jumping and running), shooting, explosives, strength and driving. The driving in particular SUCKS in the beginning. Because of that I spent much of the game running and jumping instead of driving, and I only ended up achieving two of the four driving upgrades. It gets a lot more fun as you progress through the levels and can jump higher and run faster.

In the demo, I think you start out at the lowest level. Although your skills increase faster, it's not enough to give you a good idea of what the majority of the game is like.

It certainly has its flaws, but I hope that there is a Crackdown 2. With the Halo 3 beta I'm sure they sold a ton of copies - and it seems like everyone who bought it for the Halo 3 beta ended up liking the game. I think that was a good way to develop a fanbase and kick off a new franchise.

I bought a copy of it, after the halo beta was over.
Fun game, though it certainly has its flaws. Haven't beaten it yet though.

I finished the game on the lowest difficulty as well but somehow got all my skills to 4 stars before the end.

I'm playing through it again on a higher difficulty, but mostly just so I can get achievements.

the driving skill becomes awesome at 4 stars. The racecar turns into a batmobile type car with guns, The SUV becomes a monster truck which you can drive up walls, and the truck gets a rocket engine that allows you to practically plow through everything on the freeway.

If anyone is interested in a game of coop send me a friend request, my gtag is SP2000.

Ah, yeah I guess you have to compensate for the lowballers. I was looking for Dead Rising in FS/FT recently. Everyone has it for $35 still, even though it goes for $30 retail and $25 used + edge card at EB Games. I'm not into the FS/FT thing much, so I just got it at EB Games.

I've been ate up with God of War and resistance the last couple weeks, so haven't been on the 360 lately, but just accepted your request. :)

BTW, anyone notice the interactive billboards in Crackdown? Just saw 300 on HD-DVD advertised, yet they charged for the game content update. IMO, if they are going to throw ads at us, they shouldn't be charging for it. I feel so dirty now :p

Yeah. The ads are part of the original game, not the downloadable content. I don't really care that they're there. They don't look out of place. I've seen one for the Dodge Nitro or something like that too.

dead rising is the only game i've bought, beat, sold and then considered buying again (and starting over) just to kill me some more zombies. such a great game.

i'm loving crackdown, even tho i missed two cars from the first gang, so now i gotta finish it, then respawn the gangs again.

Yeah, I stated that poorly, didn't mean to imply that it came with the update, just that charging for the update, while making additional bank off of new advertisers, feels overly greedy. Of course, I'll probably buy the next crackdown game, so I'm the problem, I should vote with my wallet.

honestly ads like that don't really bother me. if it offsets dev costs and keeps crackdown 2 from being 75 bucks instead of 60, i'm happy. they are few and far between, and blend in well.

Exactly. It's not like you're playing a WWII FPS and seeing an ad for Newegg in the middle of the battlefield.

I'm not communicating well. I have no problem with a billboard on the side of the road, and if it helped keep the cost of the game where it should be great. But some other game companies offer the extra game content for free, despite the fact the inital price was similar, and the lack of in-game adds. Again, just feels extra greedy, to charge for that extra content too, but I paid, so I take responsibility for being an "enabler".

You're communicating fine, it's just the logic that is lacking. Why are you creating some link between ads and downloadable content? They're unrelated. You could also say that if there are ads, you shouldn't have to pay for the core game - the ads are in the core game, after all. Or if you paid for the core game, why should you have to pay for downloadable content? They're all separate revenue streams.

No kidding? ;) Look, my entire contention is just that I want a OTA TV trade-off: If you are going to charge me, it should be commercial free, if you are going to generate income through advertising, then don't make me pay for the extra content. It is that simple, it is an opinion, a POV, a customer's preference, it isn't dictated by logic Mr. Spock. :p
