Sorry I couldn't help, but I responded to some other threads over there..... :)

Maybe some of those case modders will click on the SETI link

Yeah, I just recently discovered that there are other forums here besides the FS/FT and Distributed Computing ;):p

I'm kinda trying to post more in them now because it gets the word out if people see the sig with links.

Anyone have any ideas, hints, or suggestions on that PS idea or the crack rack don't be afraid to respond - ANY thoughts would be helpful since this idea is really in the infant stage. I think I've kinda worked out (in my head) the electrical rewiring but I reall need to get my hands on some specs for PSUs and the BP6. Guess I'll have to do some research tonight.

WU!!WU!!WU!!

Oh, and also - has anyone been sucessful at using a terminal server type setup for SETI, RC5 or other projects. I'd really like to have them all "boot" from a server but is that possible for these Dist. Apps? I'm kinda familiar with TFTP but haven't done much window terminal stuff. Linux I should have enough support (a buddy knows how and showed me once) for TFTP but I'd really like for them to be windows(dunno why though).

Thanks

I remember reading about someone when I first joined AT, that had built a rack and double tailed the psu's.
That was over a year ago and I think he had 4 mb's with 2 psu's.

Posted in the other thread.... :)

Cakin,
That someone was most likely to be Lord Demios, who built an RC5 crack rack (TMR) and modded power supplies to feed 2, and sometimes 3 "nodes", depending on the power loads. he wrote a "how to" that was posted in this forum.

Try doing a search in the DC archives on it.

Good Luck! :D

Found it HERE!

Not sure it will work, but the subscriber link:

Thanks for the link RaySun2Be!

I think i'm gonna stick with 2 per Power Supply. I don't want to fry anything

From reading the thread Ray linked, I should be OK with my "plans" - they aren't exactly what LD did but I am just going to add a bit more protection and maybe a few other "surprises" in the mix. I'll let you guys know when I get it done.

Anyone try this mod recently - with boards that use more juice than the ones LD and DanC were using? (the thread was in Oct of 2000 with 250W and lesser PSUs)

DanC, LD, anyone who has experience want to jump in? Or heck anyone with a off the wall idea - lets hear it. I'm in the mood to try something "different" hence this idea( guess it isn't a new one but what the heck).

Thanks,

CADkindaGUY
