Crack in the windshield

My windshield was cracked by some road debris and it grows a little every day. It's not too long and I want to keep it that way. What can I do to prevent further crackage?
I'd like to put off repairs if I can.

I have used a dot of super glue in the past to stop a run but i'd say it's only about 60% reliable. Your best option is to get it replaced.

Those guys who use the pressure-injected super glue might be able to save it, if it's not too long. At least they say they can!

Cracks and chips can be repaired for about $50-$75. The crack can be no longer than a dollar bill. If you dont get it repaired right away chances are it will continue to get bigger. I think they drill a small hole on each end of the crack to stop it.

I had a rock chip on the way to work. It had grown to few inches by the time I got there. When I got off work it had cracked the lenght of the windshield because of the temp. change.

Most insurance has $0-100 deductible on glass.

Ok, thanks.
I'm sure my insurance would cover it, since I have comprehensive. I'm just reluctant to make a claim is all.

It's amazing how thin the windshield is. Can't really tell until you have a crack. I would think it'd be twice as thick as it is.

I had to replace a windshield twice in one week. (I have to stop fallowing those rock haulers) both times the windshield was replaced with no deductable, next day, and it wasn't really a "claim" under my policy since they said that it can just happen an there isn't anything you could have done to prevent it. My rates never went up. But it all depends on your insurance policy. Just call your agent and find out all the details.
