A coworker of mine ordered one for a Dell off of EBay and said it was pretty easy to do. Certainly cheaper than replacing the laptop depending on the age and specs.

^ Normally changing a laptop's LCD assembly is not too hard. Just takes that initial step of bravery to crack open the case. I would recommend finding a replacement screen with a warranty or assembly off of a power seller on eBay.

If you can get an LCD assembly for the same price as the screen it would make life a little bit easier. With the assembly you don't have to worry about switching the LCD screen into the LCD plastics... even though it isn't too hard. Just a few more screws.

Most displays are pretty easy to replace, pop 4 screws on my older dell and disconect the power/data cable and you are done. Do it in reverse and you are cooking with a new display
