crabgrass is invading my yard

tried the ortho crabgrass killer but I think it just pissed it off and made the crabgrass grow faster. Anyone have a solution or a product they use on crabgrass?

Pics?

Seriously, I had a really invasive weed in my backyard and nothing would kill it that wouldn't kill the grass. I had to kill the entire lawn and have it re-sodded. Also, the lawnmower would help spread the weed around. It got into my front yard that way and I had to kill a patch of that as well.

Best way to kill it is just keep ripping it out by hand when it grows in.

You could try one of the sprayers that attaches to your hose. They have a dial that regulates the concentration of whatever poison you put into the sprayer.

Fill the sprayer up and soak the entire lawn.

I was always told and read that you can't kill crabgrass. Once it's there, it's there. Best thing to do is aerate the lawn a couple times a year and overseed with normal grass to try to suffocate the crab grass. You can use Crab Grass preventer in the spring to try to make it not grow but once it's there.... I don't know how much you can do.

That Jerry Baker stuff worked. It browned a bit of the grass after my second, very heavy application but the grass came back and the crabgrass didn't.
