CPUTIN and AUXTIN bug?

I'm getting some crazy numbers under CPU Hardware monitor right now.

My systin is 32c but my cputin is 128c and my auxtin is 0c. Is this a bug?

I've got one of those defective SB MBs which I'm going to have to replace soon. I'm wondering if these readings have anything to do with the problematic MB.

Unfortunately its most likely not a bug. It appears the faulty transistors have shorted out somewhere creating thermoelectric cooling from the Peltier effect. When current runs through a thermoelectric device, heat is transported from one side of the device to the other.

This is why you see such a large delta in temperatures. Current is leaking from Aux to CPU, transporting the heat with it. Hopefully your CPU hasn't been damaged running at 128*C. The only fix is to RMA your current board to get a new one with more rugged SATA II ports.

I lied. Its actually a bug. HWMonitor is a joke.

Thanks! You almost fooled me 🙂

Now my CPUTIN and AUXTIN are running at 3c which is really cool (no pun intended) bc now I must have a refrigerator in my PC. Oh and SYSTIN has a recorded min now of 8c (46f)...interesting.
