my dad is taking a class right now taught by a former intel scientist and he said that current mid-range cpus have the heat density of a nuclear reactor and if chips are ramped up at the current rate without a much lower power process, they will easily fall into the thermal density of rocket exhaust. he went further to say that if the current thermal trends continue, chips will have the same heat density of that of the surface of the sun within 5 years

Nice , and what is going to power a CPU that shells out 5800 degrees Kelvin? Furthermore isn't the ultimate goal
cooler running CPUs? (aka heat = wasted energy)

And what persay is heat density?

Joules / meters^3 ?

I dont think I follow what you are saying, as you need to clarify it more.
