Cpuidle

Hi guys, I'm trying cpuidle 5.16 (I think that's the version number anyway) with my Duron 600 at default speed, but it doesn't seem to do anything; the temperature remains at a steady 42C with or without cpuidle. In my experience with cpuidle and other processors, the temperature should go down, even when the processor is not used. Any ideas?

Thanks!
