There is no reason to run an idling program under NT versions of Windows, unless you just want to run unnecessary software. Windows 4.0 and W2K (NT 5.0) will idle the processor on their own.
You sound like a microsoft rep. My experiance is somewhat diffrent. Running CPU idle pro for window 2000 in my overclocked dual celeron machine makes more then a 10 degree celsius diffrence.
