CPUIdle 5.8 and WinXP Pro?

Can anybody tell me if CPUIdle 5.8 (Win2000 version) works with Windows XP Professional? Is it even necessary?

I'm running an Athlon TB@884mhz
The idle temp is around 45~50

Thanks.

Why would you even use it in Windows 2000?? WinNT/Win2k/WinXP operating systems already have built-in HLT commands.

It works....I'm using it on two XP machines. I like it because it displays the CPU usage in real-time on the task-bar. Monitoring this figure, gives you an indication of how your system is runing. Unusually high CPU usage=possible problems.
