For some reason my Q9550 keeps getting validation rejections no matter what clock speed I have it set to. Anyone had any ideas if this is a bug with quads? I can validate my E8400 just fine.

4292MHz
4250MHz
4207MHz

Yea my E8400/P5Q combo validates just fine. I've tried it @ 495, 500, and 505FSB and still get the same error. I'm gonna try loading XP on it later today and see if that makes a difference.

What officially qualifies for rejection by CPU-Z validation algorithms? Invalid checksum or some such?

invalid checksums

usually really piss poor overclocking, not anywhere close to stable.

CPU-Z validations are for suicide shots, hence the whole "piss poor overclocking"

Intriguing. I wonder how bad an overclock has to be in order for it to not be capable of generating a proper checksum. Must truly be on the verge of BSOD if the cpu utilization exceeds 3%.

I can run Super Pi at those speeds, and I'm pretty sure that takes more then 3% CPU usage. Even stock speeds give me the invalidation.

1.49 worked for me last week on my 940BE but not my 9850BE, now on 1.5 its reversed... lol 940BE wont validate and 9850BE is fine....

So its cpuz validator that is being all wonky then?

I've never used cpuz validator, this is all new to me.

That's odd, why would they go to all the trouble of building a program that can monitor Vcc and build a database to capture people's uploaded cpuz screenshots but not take advantage of capturing the Vcore data which is meaningful info to practically everyone?
