I have installed 2x512 pc3200 in dual channel. (at 1 and 3 socket)
When I boot it says dual channel (liner mode)
I ran CPU-Z and it says that performance mode is disabled. Why?

It's one way that Intel can sell 875P more expensive than 865PE.

875 has the fast Performance Acceleration Technology memory access which is "officially" not possible in 865. But there are 3 boardmakers out there that has 865 at same benchmark results against 875.

My personal benching last year between 865 (asus p4p800-e deluxe) versus 875 (abit ic7) favored 875 even though the asus board supposedly is one of the three 865 that had the "875-like" performance.

 So does it have to do with the performance mode of D.O.T or of the chipset?

I'm basing it from my own experience: I built 7 systems on 865 and 3 systems on 875 so far this year. All three 875 has performance mode enabled and the 7 others didn't have it.

Thankz. I have heard of P.A.T and it seems as a more logical explanation...
